The device has a steel immersion tube with a conical diameter of 12 mm to 8 mm. The sleeve is attached using a welded collar with a diameter of 30 mm. The sleeve is fixed to the pipeline with a union nut with a G 3/4 inch thread and has an installation length of 200mm. The maximum permissible ambient temperature on the housing (protection class IP54) is 80 ° C. With the help of a screwdriver, the desired switch-off temperature can be easily set on the inside of a scale after removing the housing cover. If the temperature at the temperature sensor exceeds the set limit, the circuit (terminal 2) is opened and the additional signal contact (terminal 4) closes automatically. The microswitch is locked mechanically. The microswitch can be unlocked manually after the temperature has dropped below approx. 15% of the scale. The safety temperature limiter is characterized by a high switching point accuracy of + 0 / -5% in the upper third of the scale. If the measuring system is destroyed, the circuit is opened permanently, unlocking is then no longer possible. The switch contact is then in a neutral position so that no contacts are switched. When the sensor cools down to a temperature below approx. -20 ° C, the circuit is also opened. Only when the temperature rises above approx. -20 ° C can the STB be unlocked again manually using the restart button. A decisive advantage is that no additional auxiliary energy is required for temperature measurement. The electrical connection is made by screw terminals directly on the built-in microswitch, which can switch a maximum permissible switching capacity of 230 V AC / 10 A directly. The safety temperature limiter can be used very flexibly and is used in heating, air conditioning and ventilation technology as well as in the plastics industry, apparatus and machine construction as well as in furnace construction, in district heating transfer stations and for temperature monitoring in laboratories and climatic cabinets. The device is approved according to DIN EN 14597 and PED and has an EAC approval.
